Which hospitals can get treatment under this scheme?:

The number of Ayushman cards is increasing rapidly and according to the figures provided by the government, more than 34 crore Ayushman cards have already been issued. In particular, by June 30, 2024, 7.37 crore patients worth Rs 1 lakh crore have been approved for hospitalization, eligible beneficiaries can avail cashless and paperless healthcare services at more than 29,000 listed hospitals across the country.

A separate insurance facility will also be available under this scheme:

There is a group insurance facility in the already issued Ayushman card, and they are being given a separate Ayushman card by registering for this scheme. As a result, the entire family will get Rs 5 lakh, along with Rs 5 lakh separately for senior citizens. Insurance is also available. If senior citizens already have separate state government insurance then they should opt for Ayushman or state government insurance. But they cannot avail the facility of both. This clause does not apply to senior citizens if they have private health insurance.

How can seniors register for this scheme?:

A change has been made in the Ayushman app or beneficiary.nha.gov.in web portal to provide a separate module for 70 years and above 70 years. The government has told to register the elderly in this age group and they will be given a separate Ayushman card.

  • First download the ‘Ayushman’ app or visit https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in.
  • Enter your mobile number to create user login.
  • Enter the OTP received on your phone.
  • Check eligibility using your name, aadhaar number or ration card.
  • Check details with Aadhaar e-KYC if eligible.
  • After filling all the details upload your latest photo. Then, download your Ayushman Bharat card.

Documents required to apply for this scheme:

Self-attested copy of Aadhaar number and Aadhaar card (if the applicant is illiterate, in such case consent letter should be obtained with thumb impression of the applicant).
Job Card (duly registered with MGNREGA).
Bank account details – both original and photocopy.
Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) no.
An affidavit stating that the beneficiary or his family members do not have a fixed home.

More than 1,500 medical procedures including heart surgery, cancer treatment, kidney transplant, eye and ear surgeries are covered under this scheme.
