As a result of continuous rains in the state for the last 2 weeks, crops have been destroyed due to heavy rains (Bele parihara) such farmers can apply for crop damage compensation.
Where should farmers apply to get crop damage compensation (Bele parihara status) in case of crop damage/destruction? What are the documents required to apply? You can apply for compensation through NDRF and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in case of crop loss due to rain.
1) What to do to get crop compensation under NDRP scheme?
In the event of crop and property damage due to natural calamities, compensation is provided under this scheme. If the farmers get their crops damaged due to rain, they should prepare the below mentioned documents and immediately visit your farmer contact center of Hobli and apply.
Documents to apply:
- 1) Aadhaar Card Copy of Farmers.
- 2) Bank pass book copy.
- 3) Pahani/Utar/ RTC of crop damaged land.
Application Disposal Process:
Once the crop damage application is submitted by visiting Hobli level farmer contact center of agriculture department, the officials of revenue department and agriculture department jointly visit and survey the damaged land and your application will be filled in Parihara software and all the necessary information will be recorded.
Crop compensation money will be credited directly to your bank account through DBT as soon as the funds are released by the state government as per NDRF guidelines.

2) Procedure for applying for personal compensation under Crop Insurance Scheme:
If the farmers have taken crop insurance under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana for the crops they have grown, they can get compensation by submitting an application along with the below mentioned documents at the time of crop destruction in your farm.
Documents to apply:
- 1) Aadhaar Card of the applicant
- 2) Bank pass book
- 3) Pahani/RTC of damaged land
- 4) Crop insurance receipt
- 5) Mobile number
Take the above mentioned documents and visit your farmer contact center within 48 hours of crop damage and apply. After applying, get the mobile number of your village insurance company representative to visit your farm and survey the damage.
Application Disposal Process:
Once you visit the Agriculture Department office and submit your application, your application will be scrutinized, Agriculture Department officials and insurance company representatives will jointly visit your farm and survey the crop damage and decide on crop insurance compensation according to the area of crop damage.
