PM E Drive Scheme: With the aim of promoting electric mobility in the country, the Union Cabinet chaired by Hon’ble Narendra Modi approved the PM Electric Drive scheme on September 11, 2024. This scheme has a total financial outlay of ₹10,900 crore over a period of two years.
Objective of P. M. E Drive Scheme:
The scheme aims to control the increasing pollution of the environment from petrol and diesel vehicles and increase the use of electric vehicles.
Under this scheme, the central government is providing a subsidy of up to 32,500 rupees for the purchase of various electric vehicles.
How much subsidy is there for which vehicles?
- Those who buy an electric two-wheeler will be given Rs. 10,000 in the first year and Rs. 5,000 in the second year.
- Three-wheelers will get Rs. 25,000 in the first year and Rs. 12,500 in the second year.
How to apply to get the benefit of this scheme?
To get the benefit under this scheme, first register your electric vehicle with your regional transport office. Then your vehicle dealer will issue you an e-Voucher using your Aadhaar number.
