PM Scholarship Scheme 2022 Overview
Financial assistance will be provided to 82,000 students under the Pradhan Mantri Yojana, Modi Scholarship (PMSS), which will be distributed equally among 41 thousand male and 41 thousand female students. Scholarships are awarded every year to successful students from across the country.
This Kendriya Vidyalaya Sainik Board Secretariat (KSB PMSS- www.ksb.gov.in) is run by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
Children and widows of Ex/Serving/RPF/RPSF/CAPF/Armed Rifles are given scholarships to get better employment opportunities later.

For the children of CAPFS and AR, a total of 2000 scholarships (both for girls and boys) are distributed per academic year. Similarly, a total of 500 scholarships will be distributed to an equal number of boys and girls (i.e. 250 for boys and 250 for girls) to children of state police personnel martyred in Naxal/terrorist attacks.
Duration of PM Scholarship

Who is eligible for the PM or Prime Minister (PM Modi) Scholarship 2022?
PM Scholarship is awarded at various levels, specifically focusing on PM Scholarship for 12th passed students. Whether you are applying for the Prime minister Scholarship for Ph.D. or PM Scholarship for class 10th or PM Scholarship for Engineering students, you have to follow certain eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for Pradhan Mantri (PM Modi Scholarship) Scheme 2022 are mentioned.
For CAPFS and Assam Rifles
- Wards and widows of the deceased.
- APF and AR personnel who have died in harness/alternative duty, wards of personnel with disabilities due to government service, and children of ex-CAPF and AR personnel have received gallantry awards.
- Wards/widows of retired and serving CAPFs and AR personnel (below officer rank)
- Candidates have professional degrees in Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B Pharma, BSc (Nursing, Agriculture), MBA, MCA, etc.
- Applicants should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in admission qualification i.e. 12th/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent in case of fresh applicants.
- Candidates applying under renewal need to qualify for the exam with minimum of 50% marks.
- A grace period of one year is given for renewal subject to certain terms and conditions.
For the State, Police Force
- Should have done degree program in Engineering, Medical, Dental and Veterinary field, BBA, BCA, B Pharma, B.Sc. (Nursing, Agriculture, etc.), MBA and MCA.
- Minimum 60% marks in 12th class, Diploma/ Degree, or if you are a fresh applicant.
- Applicants must have secured at least 50% marks under the new category.
- A grace period of 1 year is given for the renewal of the PM scholarship.
Important Notice
- The minimum entry qualification for admission in different professional courses to apply under any category is different. Like, ME Q of MBBS is 10+2 but BE/B.TE. 10+2/Diploma for B.Ed and Graduation for MBA course.
- Children seeking admission to the second year of technical/professional degree courses (B.E./B.Tech etc.) through lateral entry after completing the diploma course are eligible for PMSS 2022.
- The percentage marks of the best five subjects in the wards applying after 12th will be considered by the CBSE Board
- Only professional courses recognized by government regulatory bodies like AICTE, Medical Council of India (MCI), and University Grants Commission (UGC) will be considered.
Note: Students can apply for this scholarship for only one course. If they apply for a scholarship in more than one course their application will be considered invalid.
Who is not eligible for the Prime minister Scholarship Scheme 2022?
- Any student pursuing a postgraduate course is not eligible.
- Any student earning or serving in any employment is not eligible.
- A student is studying abroad.
- Any student pursuing a distance education course is not eligible.
- Applicants have already availed benefits of the Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme 2022.
- Change of course/college by a selected student and fresh admission in the same academic year will result in rejection of his/her application.
PM Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) 2022 Award
- A total of 5,500 students will be awarded annually under the PMSS 2022 scheme.
- Students get a benefit of Rs 2,500 per month for boys and Rs 3,000 per month for girls.
- INR36,000 annually for each girl and Rs.30,000 for each boy.
Payment of PM Scholarship 2022
- Scholarships are awarded to students through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and Aadhaar Payment Bridge to transfer funds directly to the student’s bank account.
- The scholarship will be forfeited if you fail or fail to obtain 50% or more marks.
- Bank details including the bank account number of the nationalized bank linked to the Aadhar card are required to be submitted.

- Certificate of Confidence duly signed by the Vice Chancellor/Dean/Principal/Vice President
- Principal / Registrar / Associate Dean / Deputy Registrar / Director / Deputy Director
- Certificate issued by Bank Manager stating seeding of Aadhaar card with student’s bank account.
- 10th class mark sheet as proof of date of birth.
- 12th Class / Graduation (3 Years) / Diploma (6 Semesters, whichever course is completed) Complete Marks List.
- A copy of the first page of the student’s bank passbook or canceled check of the account. Class Certificate if applicable.

Q1. Can I apply for PM Modi Scholarship Scheme through online mode?
Answer- Yes, it depends on the scholarship mode you have chosen. Some PM Scholarship 2022 are online mode and some are offline.
Question 2. I am pursuing the second year of my professional course, am I eligible to apply?
Answer- No, you are not eligible to apply. Except for lateral entries and integrated courses, only students in their first year can apply for PM Scholarship Scheme 2022.

Answer- No, you can avail of the scholarship only once.

Answer- No, this scholarship is for ex-servicemen and widows of ex-servicemen who have served in the Coast Guard, Air Force, Army, or Navy.
