Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana: Central survey to provide 2 crore more houses to the poor:
The government plans to complete this exercise by March 31, 2025, as promised in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Centre sent a notification in this regard to all states and union territories on December 27. According to the announcement, the survey to identify eligible households will be conducted using the Awas+ 2024 mobile application.
“Therefore, I urge you to kindly instruct the concerned authorities in your state to initiate the household survey on priority and ensure its completion within the next three months by March 31, 2025… No eligible household should be left out,” the Centre said in a statement.
Officials said that the survey of one crore more households under the Pradhan Mantri Awas (Urban) scheme has already begun. In its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had promised three crore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas scheme, two crore in rural areas and one crore in urban centres. The Modi government had said in its manifesto that it had already completed four crore houses under the scheme in the first two terms. The Pradhan Mantri Awas scheme has been a big change for the BJP since 2016. The target is to complete three crore additional houses by March 31, 2029.
The survey will be conducted by surveyors and people will have an option to self-survey using facial authentication on the Awaas+ 2024 mobile app.

How to fill PMAY form online?
- Step 1: Visit the official website of PMAY https://pmaymis.gov.in/.
- Step 2: On the main page, click on the ‘Citizen Assessment’ option and select ‘Apply Online from the drop-down menu. You will see four options. Choose the one that applies to you.
- Step 3: To apply online for PMAY, select the option ‘In Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR)’. The next page will ask you for your Aadhar number and name. Fill in the details and click on ‘Check’ to verify your Aadhaar details.
- Step 4: A description – Format A – will appear. This form requires all your details. Fill each column carefully.
- Step 5: After filling in all the details for PMAY, enter the captcha and click on the ‘Submit’ button. Your PMAY online application is complete.
How to Download the PMAY Online Form?
Step 1: Visit the official PMAY website, pmay mis.gov.in
Step 2: You will get an option to access your PMAY online form by providing your father’s name and mobile number or through an assessee ID. Select your option and fill in the relevant details.
Step 3: Now you will be able to view and download your PMAY online form.

PMAY Application Form (Offline)
Applicants can fill out the PMAY online form offline at State-Common Service Centers (CSCs) or banks empaneled under PMAY. You will have to pay a nominal fee of Rs 25 to fill out the PMAY registration form.

- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- You cannot own a house anywhere in India.
- You should not have received any government grant to buy a house in the past.

- Note that this classification is based on the applicant’s annual income.

You can apply for PMAY under two broad categories:
